Support for Families

We understand that family life can sometimes be challenging, and there may be times when you or your family need a little extra support. You do not have to face these challenges alone. Our school is committed to supporting the wellbeing of our children and families and ensuring that you know where to turn for help.

Our door is always open

We operate an ‘open door’ policy and encourage parents and carers to talk to us if there is something worrying you, affecting your family, or making life more difficult.

Mrs Whittem, our Safeguarding Lead, and Miss Marta, our Pastoral Lead, are available to listen, offer support and discuss any concerns you may have. We understand that asking for help can sometimes feel difficult, but please be assured that you will be treated with care, respect and understanding.

We can offer support with a wide range of issues, including:

• Emotional wellbeing and mental health
• Children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing
• Family and parenting support
• Financial difficulties and managing household costs
• Housing and accommodation concerns
• Accessing food, clothing and other essential items
• Attendance and barriers to coming to school
• Relationships and family difficulties
• Support during times of change or crisis
• Accessing local community services and specialist organisations

Where we are unable to provide the specialist support you need ourselves, we can help you identify and access the right service or organisation. We can signpost families to appropriate local and national agencies and, where appropriate, help you understand what support is available and how to access it.

You are not alone

Sometimes, a small amount of support at the right time can make a significant difference to a child and their family. Whether you need someone to talk to, practical advice, or help finding a service that can support you, please come and speak to us.

Our aim is to work alongside families in a supportive, non-judgemental way, always keeping the wellbeing and best interests of our children at the heart of what we do.
